A really fun collection of summertime jams that don't feel like a copy and paste from the summer of love artists that inspired it
May 15th saw a triple album release from one of the most discussed artists of the 21st century. Sparking, perhaps deservedly, endless mockery from those who believed that Drake has fallen off completely, and even more pushback from those who still see him as the best out there. But amidst the Icemen and hot hotels with a shocking lack of soda, a poignant release by an undeniably talented artist shone bright. REDSTAR WU & THE WORLDWIDE SCOURGE is an absolute gem, whose importance and sheer ... read more
Some of the best emo stuff I've heard lately. The guitar tones in particular just feel so vintage almost, and really scratch my brain. the title tack is such a good tune, and im not from Canada but, fuck Air Canada
Extremely pleasant folk-pop. Nothing particularly blew me away but its a wonderful vibe
I cant believe they didnt let Stevie have Silver Springs on the album. It'd be perfect if they did that i think
Genuinely some of the smoothest, sexiest music that has ever graced my ears
Thundercat has gotta be the most underrated artist on this site. Such great vibes and grooves on every single one of this man's albums. What is Left To Say was made in a lab for me specifically i think.
What I imagine hydrogen atoms fusing in the sun hear on a daily basis. Pretty sweet
My ATOY so far. The diverse instrumentation and orchestration, perfect features typical of a gorillaz project, and genuinely thought-provoking lyrical themes surrounding morality inspired by eastern philosophies. This album really captured me in a way few do. Songs like Orange County, The Empty Dream Machine, and The Sad God have such profoundly beautiful lyrics about death, legacy, existence, and in the case of the last track, the wasting of the paradise humanity has been given. The Manifesto ... read more
I really enjoy the mix of catchy bedroom pop melodies with vaguely unsettling production here, its a nice juxtaposition
I get the feeling that electropop is going to have a big year, and Im very much here for it!
Maybe I'm a bit basic bu I thought this was a rly nice listen. I liked the latin instrumentation he incorporated on some songs, and in general felt that there were some really solid highlights
Some highlights to be sure (suspiciously vampire-shaped song in the corner) but to me just felt disappointing for someone who has always appreciated the complexity of tame Impala's music composition-wise, I just felt there was a lot more that could have been done with a lot of the songs here. Still hype for the tour!
This album feels like yellowed pictures, dusty attics and wistful memories. It makes me feel so painfully nostalgic and I don't even know why. Simply, quietly, beautiful. I enjoyed the gingerbee album from last year, though nothing could have prepared me for this. just wow
