After several listens, I think this album was definitely worth the wait. Although I don't think this is Brand New's greatest, I think there is a chance it can rival their best with time (The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me). I think this album really encapsulates their entire career and you can hear echoes from each album throughout this entire record.
I may be accused of blindly loving everything that Radiohead releases, although I had a really hard time with King Of limbs and wondered if they could recover from it in my eyes. A Moon Shaped Pool has totally redeemed Radiohead and they have created another masterpiece. After the Mother's Day festivities wore down, I sat and listened to this album in it's entirety twice. I hear so many influences from so many bands on this album. Everything from Arcade Fire, to Radiohead, to Death Cab For Cutie, to Led Zeppelin. There truly is something for everyone on this album, and this is an album made to be heard on headphones.
Of the 3 albums that Vampire Weekend has released, I have to say I think this is their best effort. This album is flawless, and is like a fine wine, because it gets better with each and every listen.
