I was really excited to hear Peggy was dropping (I didn’t know who Flume was), but this EP is kind of a letdown. The production is odd, but not really good or innovative at all, both of which are things I expect from Peggy. There are a lotta themes of society pushing fake things in our faces and wondering what’s even real, but these themes that would be cool to explore aren’t really explored at all.
Track 1 is a 6 minute skit about Flume showing Peggy beats to rap on and Peggy ... read more
I love the instrumentals, but I don’t know how to feel about the vocals. I think it’s cool how the screaming vocals are mixed to sound whispery, but I don’t know if I like them or not. Admittedly I’m not the biggest fan of metal. I also think Winona’s a great track, but not top 5 of the year or anything.

A lot of country songs’ll have some kinda phrase or slogan that’s supposed to be clever, but “There’s a lotta reasons I ain’t Jesus but the main one is I ain’t comin’ back” has gotta be the worst one I’ve ever heard 😭
Now imagine 36 more songs just like this.
It’s a great album that mixes a lot of sounds (rnb, pop, folk, and even elements of country), but with every song having the same vibe, it’s hard not to get bored at times.
Great, but still not as good as anything off Ants From Up There. Idk maybe it’ll grow on me
Edit: Yk what, it did grow on me. Great album, exceeded my expectation, and great single.

Every song sounds the same. Every beat sounds the same. Every song is about the same couple things. Every song starts with the same “Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeeaaahhhh”. It started making me mad everytime I heard it. It was like the code words used to activated the winter soldier. This is 20 tracks of Dave’s annoying vocals, terrible writing, boring, samey production, and the occasional funny bar. It’s time to put down the cup dude.
AAAAAHHHHH LEBRON AND BIG JUSTICE AAHHH MY GOATS TOGETHER THIS IS A DAY IN HISTORY AAAAHHHHHG I LOVE YOU LEBONBON MY GLORIOUS KING
Ever since Skins came out (which is still the best rock song of 2025 so far), I’ve been super excited for this EP. I can’t say I was disappointed. Even though this is just their debut, this is an incredible project. Skins is still the coolest song of the year, and The Strip has grown on me a lot since it was first released. Wake Robin is a masterpiece, with its crawling bass lines, powerful strings, grimy guitars, and fast drums. It’s incredible.

I’ve never listened to a Wallows project (just a couple of songs), but this is solid. The band tries a couple different styles in this EP, from 80s inspired pop (Deep Dive), to more vampire weekend esque alternative rock (Coffin Change), to what sounds like a BCNR inspired track (Your New Favorite Song). And while they don’t necessarily master any of these sounds, it’s cool to see the band branch out. None of these songs are bad by any means, some just don’t stand ... read more
I haven’t listened to anything by Kali except for her stuff on Flower Boy and the Llama Llama Red Pajama thing (PEAK), but this is peak.

If Taylor Swift was good (and yk slightly more rock)
This is my first exposure to Quadeca and I love it. I love how seamless the combination of folk, r&b, and hip hop are. It’s a super unique sound I can’t get enough of. I need to check out I Didn’t Mean to Haunt You.
Even though I’ve heard very little of him (only his stuff on Cordae’s newest album and a couple of Silk Sonic tracks), I love Anderson .Paak. So when I realized I missed an album of his (this collab album with him and producer Knxwledge, and follow up to their previous collab album, “Yes Lawd!” from 8 years prior) in 2024, I knew I missed out. And yeah, I did. This album is great, and it makes sense that Knxwledge and Anderson .Paak would decide to collab again: their ... read more

Listen to an album from a celebrity who thinks they can also make music
I don’t really wanna review this (bc we both know this is bad), I’d rather talk about smth else. I think it’s totally possible to reinvent your public image and start a career in a new field. Look at somebody like Joji (former YouTuber Filthy Frank, aka the pink guy) or Childish Gambino (comedian and actor Donald Glover). They were both famous before they started ... read more
