It's so pretty!! I really love the vocals and production in this track. I'm not sure if this is what I expected from a lead single but I most definitely was not disappointed. Having said that, I do feel the chorus could have been way better with a little more oomph there. Regardless I think it's a really solid track that I will get back to and one that probably reflects the upcoming album really well.
I loved the verses a lot but I unfortunately was a little disappointed by the chorus. I feel the song was really great at building that tension up but ultimately did not deliver, at least completely. In spite of my somewhat negative first impression, the song is undeniably really well produced and Olivia's vocals go really hard. I think I'm going to have to sit with this one for a minute, it might grow on me.
Take this with a grain of salt as I am extremely biased towards Sabrina Carpenter
Manchild: 9/10 (pop banger and it is still growing on me; was iffy on first listen but quickly became imo one of the best singles released this year)
Tears: 9.5/10 (i acknowledge that the chorus can become repetitive but it does not take away from just how catchy and quirky the track is)
