It's certainly pretty easy to recognise the structure of the "genres" it uses, with major changes happening every 16 or 32 bars, minor ones developing over 4-8. I think this album helped me recognise what I actually like in music. When an album goes out of its way to go off a totally different spectrum to how most other music plays within, it alters your experience with the album as a whole. You're probably listening to it and expecting emotional payoff, musical resolution, etc., but even right off the introductory track, you're just confused, uncomfortable probably, and likely thinking "wait, is this 3 tracks or the same one?". i think this is what you'd hear walking through konigsforst and not actually any of the other albums GAS has made. not saying i dislike the other ones, just that the tone of zauberberg feels more like it than the others. i love this one.
