really nice production, instruments, and singing. I'd be happy with a few more hooks though.
also, am I alone in thinking the bonus tracks are the best ones on this thing?
the grooviest white boys you've ever heard.
top: all of them but especially DEACON BLUES
top: you had your soul with you, quiet light, not in kansas, rylan, light years
top: city walls, rawfear, the contract, downstairs, robot voices, center mass, tally
top: bloodsport, look down on us (!!!), saoirse, break the tension (!!), trenches, reconcile (!!)
top: incomprehensible (!!), all day all night, grandmother, how could i have known
top: big shot (spamton reference??), jackie down the line (!!), the couple across the way, skinty fia, i love you
this thing (and game) fucks. a perfect marriage between soundtrack and gameplay.
top: the suburbs, ready to start, rococo, empty room, half light I, wasted hours, sprawl I+II
quite possibly the longest 32-minute record ever created.
I'm glad to see The Armed going a bit more noisy than they did on Perfect Saviors, which was a little too clean for my liking. this record does lack most of the hookiness that made me fall in love with Only Love and Ultrapop, which I'm sad to see.
top: kingbreaker, broken mirror, sharp teeth
(The) Glow On, Pt 2
Feels a bit too B-sides-y to really thrill me, and treads too much of the same ground as Glow On. Is that a bad thing? No. Is it a good thing? Also no. Is it a pleasant listen? Yes.
top: SOLE (haven't they written this song before?), DREAMING, BIRDS
Really does seem like a next step from dogsbody. All four members have broadened their skillset and it adds to make this a more involved/textured/layered record compared to the previous. Very, very impressive. looking forward to the tour.
top: vespers, cinderella, diva, departures
edit: DIVA IS SO FIRE
i knew i'd come back here the first time i heard those cymbal blasts.
also, feat. Lars Ulrich?? bruh why
