TMBG is my favorite band. I don’t think they have a bad album. At the same time, I don’t think they have a perfect album either. That trend continues here. I’ve said for years that they need to branch out of their basic piano-guitar-drum arrangements, but they remain set in their ways. Still, I’ll take a new handful of tautological Linnell bangers and mid-tempo Flansburgh jams anyday.
