His best album since Donda. I feel like it has incredible potential, but it just isn't finish and is messy. Mainly needs cleaning up and removal of ai near the end of the track list. Some of the songs are too short as well. Adding extra verses or even letting the beat ride out for a little longer on some tracks could help. It is good enough to show he still has something in the tank, giving me more hope in future projects.
The College Dropout is one, if not the best debut album to date. It rides on such a high throughout every track with very catchy songs and funny skits. This album also totally changed the hip-hop game, introducing a relatable and soulful album that moved the genre to focus more on conscious rap over gansta. American Idiot is the first Green Day album I listened to. It is also one of the first albums I really dug into for weeks. It offers so much lyrically wise that connects to political issues in the time, which is still unfortunately relevant. The main focus is on the Jesus of Suburbia, who faces much throughout the album, not really learning from these experiences until he moves back home at the end.
