Sweet Trip - You Will Never Know Why
90

Not as good as Velocity : Design : Comfort but still an amazing album

NR

I refuse to ever listen to their music for multiple reasons:

A: The persona of sewerslvt (and most copycats of their work) comes off as being edgy for the sake of being edgy, and the effect of it ranges from coming off really corny to being genuinely fucking disrespectful (e.g. the intro to their first album)

B: They are a groomer and I do not fw groomers. I see most fans try to dismiss these allegations as they came from Kiwifarms (which I can't blame them as Kiwifarms is a cancerous ... read more

Sickboyrari - Crack Cloud$ Over Arts Kitchen

I was really sleep deprived when I was listening to this album a ton and I genuinely felt I was going to go mentally insane
Hydr6c0don$ is peak though

Jane Remover - Indie rock
NR

I cannot be bothered listening to this one, from the small snippets I've heard it's a continuation of the underground rap stuff that they did on Revengeseekerz, and I really do not care for that scene. Something about their voice both on here and on Revengeseekerz really puts me off and while the blaccent accusations are stupid it still feels like their accent is forced.

Jane Remover - Census Designated
95

This was probably my most hyped release of 2023 and it definitely did not disappoint at all. Ended up listening to the album on repeat every day for at least a month so my opinion has likely soured a bit. I also spent way more than I should have done on the vinyl because shipping to New Zealand genuinely costs more than the record a lot of the time.

Jane Remover - Cage Girl
80

This was my introduction to Jane's music and it instantly made me a fan

I was checking out the DeadAir Records roster as Quadeca had signed to them when IDMTHY dropped, and I ended up coming across the Cage Girl YouTube upload when it had maybe ~5k views. I instantly loved the song and I dove into the rest of the stuff she had under the Jane Remover name (Tidal still hadn't shifted Frailty nor much of her other stuff over by this point so I had no clue about all of her other ... read more

Mac Miller - Swimming

God please give us back Mac Miller, we will gladly offer you Tom Macdonald

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers
90

I would say that this album is overlooked in the conversation around Kendrick's best albums, but even with where it often ranks it's still always highly praised

I got to see most of this album live during the Mr. Morale tour and his performance was amazing as expected, likely heightened by the fact that it was the final show of the entire world tour

Was kind of funny to see that every single song has had their Pro Tools session leaked when I was skimming through the Kendrick leak ... read more

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85–92
75

Even though I think it's overrated, I still believe that this is a classic album that helped pioneer IDM and electronic music as a whole

The highlights of this album are some of the highest in Aphex Twin's discography and electronic music in general, with notable tracks like Xtal, Pulsewidth, Heliosphan, etc.

One of my biggest problems with this album though is how forgettable the songs are after We Are the Music Makers, I can never remember how any of them sound even after repeat ... read more

S A K I 夢 - 夢の中で失われました
80

For sure one of my favorite vaporwave albums ever, criminally overlooked

Venetian Snares - Detrimentalist
85

Absolutely insane rhythms and breakbeats throughout this album that leave me in awe of how he made them

I can only listen to this album (or any of Venetian Snares' discography) a max of maybe one or two listens before I overload my brain and have an aneurysm

Yung Lean - Unknown Death 2002
75

The highlights are very high and the lowlights are quite low

The lo-fi production across this mixtape (and most of SBE/DG's early works) is hit or miss, at best enhancing the "vibe" of the tracks and at worst making them unlistenable

Hurt is a good example of the lo-fi production falling flat, as you can barely hear his vocals and that fuckass snare drowns out every other element

Yung Lean - Unknown Memory
80

While the production carries this album, by no means does Yung Lean fall short of pulling his weight too

A significant step up from Unknown Death 2002, with him having a much more confident delivery and better hook writing

Drain Gang - GTBSG
80

Really catchy songs that get stuck in my head, along with great production behind them

Thaiboy Digital's verse on Diamonds makes me laugh every time it starts

Sweet Trip - Velocity : Design : Comfort.
100

International might be one of the greatest songs I've ever listened to

Earl Sweatshirt - Live Laugh Love
80

Tourmaline sounds like the backdrop to a filler day

Porter Robinson - Nurture
95

Musician is definitely up there in my favorite songs of all time

Airospace - 戦場ヶ原 ひたぎ [vol. IV]
82

Has the superior song titled anxiety

Radiohead - Hail to the Thief (Live Recordings 2003-2009)
80

The live version of Myxomatosis is so good
