You can really see the roots of heavy progressive metal here, and the sound of this project is really quite good. Its intense and never really lets up with its intensity. There's a lot of variation here as well, especially for being this early in the scene. The riffs throughout are also great; i love the sounds they bring here, they still sound extremely fresh even with the evolution of the genre, especially in the back half of the project. I do think that the vocals can get extremely grating unfortunately, which damages this otherwise pretty flawless project.
