This is one of the best metal covers ever. It's so unique and represents the album incredibly well, while still just looking absolutely beautiful. The music within is also almost beautiful in a sense; there's some genuinely really pretty sounding parts littered here and there throughout this record despite it's heaviness. The way the album is able to pull you into this world and feel like you are seeing and experiencing the story firsthand is also really cool, and super well done. The vocals are super unique for this genre of metal, with the layering and intonations being quite unique while still sounding great. The riffs throughout are great, and the time signature manipulation and chaos makes it feel like huge waves are crashing over you at multiple points. The only slight issue I have is with the mixing, as the vocals are so often drowned out by the other instruments, dragging down my score quite a bit unfortunately. Still an incredible project though, and definitely worth checking out if you're into any form of sludge/thrash metal if you haven't already.
Rest In Peace, Brent Hinds.
