The hip hop duo 'OutKast' from Atlanta released their sophomore studio album 'ATLiens' in 1996. Hip hop was globally already very spreadand wasn't anything very new anymore, for example 2pac died only one month after the release of this album and a lot of artists like the Beastie Boys were already in the game for quite a long time. Still, the southern hip hop duo made fresh music with interesting samples and unique styles of rapping and flows that affected a lot of artists that had their success later. The only thing I don't understand is why this album should be considered as groundbreaking or amazing souding in general. It's good, very good even but just doesn't stay very interesting or mindblowing throughout it and unfortunately influence doesn't make an album better.
