Before I get deep into this review, it should be noted that I have been an avid longtime fan of Avril and her music, so it honestly pains me to give this the score I have. I tried so hard to enjoy this record, I wanted so badly for Avril to have released a masterpiece after all the struggles she has been through, but in complete honesty this record is plain and simply a mess.

A solid release from Cage The Elephant, one that I'm sure will be quite polarising for long time fans of the band. The record is consistent throughout and there are not many missteps in the track listing. At the same time however, there aren't a great number of tracks that will stand out among the rest. Overall I feel it is a deserved 75/100
