If hip-hop was wiped from history with only one album left behind, Illmatic has every aspect and element of hip-hop within it.

Not a bad album, but for a Kendrick Lamar standard, I expected better song writing and more versatility in instrumentals within this project. It's easily Kendrick's weakest song writing and concept to date.

Dark Times is simply Vince's best work he has put out to date. We have never seen Vince introspective and so vulnerable on an album like Dark Times, but being so is what makes this album a special connection between him and his listeners.
