Edit- after my second listen my thoughts have changed quite a bit from below. I’ll update further when I get a chance but Running might be a masterpiece.

Not had a chance to listen to it all yet so subject to change, but broken is one of the most complete songs I’ve ever heard. Flawless conception and delivery the instrumental is breathtaking and the every bar feels both pointed and perfectly placed. Lil Simz is not only the best female rapper in the industry, but up there with some of the very greats to ever do it.
It’s a quality album but it lacks replay value and doesn’t feel the classic that gkmc, tpab, or damn were. Bit underwhelming to be honest.
A year later and it still sounds fantastic. Bruno and Anderson are so talented it’s a joke.
It actually took me a while to listen to this album. Underwhelmed as I have continually been to ID’s last 3 albums, it’s just too painful. Then reading all the criticism of this album I braced myself, gritted my teeth, and gave it a listen. Context matters and both of the Mercury albums are focussing on loss and the sad death of Dan’s sister.
