Drake - If You're Reading This It's Too Late

As much as I generally hate a lot of Drake's music from Views onward and him as a person, I do like this album quite a bit. It's not one I go back to that often, but the standouts here are solid and as a whole, this album lacks a lot of the cornier moments that I can't stand on many Drake songs.

Production here is good, nothing too special but definitely some standout beats here. I do still find a few beats here a bit too lowkey and sleepy, but theres not that many beats here ... read more

Allt - Snowblind

Musically, it's definitely a pretty safe song for Allt but not anything too new for them, feels a bit like a softer Echoes. However, by comparison, the vocals here are way too loud and too clean sounding for this sound. It's not a complete turnoff, and as a whole the song is still decent, but they've definitely done better even with softer songs.

Periphery - A Pale White Dot

I liked this quite a lot! Definitely a bit of a different direction for Periphery, experimenting with some different and more mainstream sounds and dialing back the proggier elements in favor of more straightforward heaviness, but I think they do nicely with it. Not quite as riffy as past releases, but they're still very much present on a couple tracks. For me personally, I'd consider this an improvement from P5, which I felt was mostly forgettable.

Holding Absence - Reflection

Echoing much of the same sentiment here. Not quite as good as Whisper of a Dream but I still like this song a lot on first listen. I get a bit of a Linkin Park vibe from the synths and the breakdown here.
