Almost perfect, bangers on bangers. That might be its only flaw, they all feel like amazing singles and struggle to feel like an album at times. Having said that, listen to this if you haven't. The mixing, the overall musicality on this album are stunning.
He's still very much trying, maybe, even more, this time. Still can't seem to find a theme or consistency. It just becomes one big mush. Funnily enough, the song I got back to the most is one that I know fundamentally isn't very good. Can't explain it. Very feature heavy, some of them doing a lot of heavy pulling. Enjoyed it a bit more than the last album. Happy that 'Summer is Over' isn't on here, because, yeah, that's not an improvement.
Highlights:
You
No Time
SWERVE
He's really trying, he really is.
A few tunes, but small weird production choices throughout and very inconsistent rapping, which all in all makes it a confusing listen on the second time.
Highlights:
Houdini
Down Like That
Found Red (the song) before the rest, and it's still by far the best moment on Red (the album). The atmospheric rhythms are nice and pleasant as well as the harmonies throughout. Still enjoyed the rest of the album quite a bit. Yeah, it's also mostly remixes, but an enjoyable listen all in all
Highlights:
Red (the song)
VII
I enjoyed this one a lot, most of the highlights were the singles released before the LP, but think they'll grow on a second listen.
For now...
Highlights:
Riot
Bloodwar
Mother
All vibes from this LP. Does feel very artsy, but can’t expect anything else from Leon Thomas, a lot of musical awareness throughout. Does blend together a bit and as a result some of the songs do become a bit forgettable.
Highlights:
Sneak
Breaking Point
Crash & Burn
Don't get this being boring... I'll defend this album 'til I die. This is the perfect album for vibes. A few misses, mostly with the pacing, but all in all a well-produced album with solid jams throughout.

Jacob Banks' latest album, "Lies About The War," is a stunning masterpiece that showcases both the beauty of his voice and his emotional depth. From the very first track, it's clear that Banks has a gift for crafting deeply moving and powerful songs that stay with you long after the album ends.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Coolin" featuring Samm Henshaw and Adekunle Gold, which is a true standout and could easily be my song of the year. The production is ... read more
