one of my favorite albums of all time. evokes feelings like no other.
favorite track: She Needs Him
definitely doesn’t touch Have a Nice Day or No Vacancy. interesting choice of features that i didn’t really vibe with. i loved the retro aesthetic they had going on with the album covers and this one is just like ok well that’s certainly an album cover… it also seems like they’re straying even further than they already were from the traditional country instrumentals. this is practically a grunge album with country vocals. surely has some heaters in it ... read more
an absolutely phenomenal, earth-shattering, high vibrational, defining album for them. dynamic vocals. beautiful instrumentals. no skips. everything is perfect. this is one that will make you feel.
favorite track: Gravity Blues
released on my birthday! sonically better than 3d country, although i prefer the dynamic vocals of 3d country more. a practically perfect album, but it reaches levels of perfection unheard of performed live compared to the studio version.
favorite track: Au Pays du Cocaine
every time i show my friends who don’t listen to pop punk this album they laugh at the vocals, but they are truly the best part of it. hot mulligan does something special here that i haven’t felt for any of their other albums. it’s so emotionally resonant and the range from all of the songs to one as soft and touching as Betty is incredible. overall, so charming and enjoyable.
