Queens of the Stone Age - Villains
97

Villains is easily one of the more exciting releases of Queens of the Stone Age, and I am glad to say they are still going strong after twenty years of being a generation-definitive rock band. I am so happy that a great straight-up rock album finally has come out this year, its about time!

9.7/10

BROCKHAMPTON - SATURATION
75

This album has no concept, no flow, but contains some absolutely fantastic tracks and performances. The skits also are very atypical, which makes them not a bother to my taste. A solid collection of Hip-Hop songs.

7.5/10

James Elkington - Wintres Woma
87

What a beautiful solo debut. So many different feelings came through me as I listened to each track, all of them in utter amazement at how the lyrics, melodies, and guitar work mend together so terrifically.

8.7/10

Algiers - The Underside of Power
86

Aggressive but meaningful and relevant album we got here. Diverse but still organized and coherent. This album needs to be acknowledged as one of the best of the year, especially with the current sociopolitical climate that we currently reside in. Definitely check this album out!

8.6/10

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
96

An album has to really impress me later this year if it wants to take the #1 spot away from this release. This album once again shows why Kendrick Lamar is this generation's definitive rapper. THE HEART PART IV was quite accurate in saying the industry will be on the "ice pack" with this album's impact.

9.6/10

Lorde - Melodrama
88

Best pop album of the decade. Loving this record so much. Themes are present, as well as great harmony and lyrical concepts. Don't let this album slip your mind!

8.8/10

Harry Styles - Harry Styles
66

Solid songwriting, however feels like a late career album halfway through.

Vince Staples - Big Fish Theory
65

First half is completely redundant, "Yeah Right" is the only awesome song on this, partly because the guy who made the real Hip-Hop album of the year was featured on it. Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. is far, far better than this mess.

6.5/10

Logic - Everybody
62

This has the R in rap, however not the AP. Convoluted and often times inaccurately portrayed lyrics. Decent beats, but a complete mess concept that leaves me confused.

6.2/10

Fleet Foxes - Crack-Up
94

"Crack-up" is not only the largest amount of ambition put into a Fleet Foxes release, but the strongest payoff so far in their three-album discography.

Favorite tracks: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11

Least favorite track: 6, if I had to pick one

9.4/10

Phoenix - Ti Amo
79

Whether you like this album or not, Phoenix needed to make this and be appreciated for this outstanding new release of theirs. Perhaps one of most danceable EDM oriented albums, but not for the worse in any respect.

Fav Tracks: J-BOY, GOODBYE SOLEIL, ROLE MODEL, TELEFONO
