The sound is really good, but I felt it there wasnt enough variation in the songs. I felt I had experienced everything the album had to offer around halfway through.
In the halls of musical excess, 7 Skies H3 holds utmost infamy. Making a song as long as 24 hours is no small feat, and for it to be genuinely good is insanely impressive. The flaming lips are one of the only ones to ever do it.
Many works of art that tackle dealing with the death of somebody try to make it seem that everything will be okay, but 7 Skies H3 swerves away from that idea. Coming from the words of Wayne himself, ‘Sometimes artists and poets will put a positive spin on death, ... read more
its genuinely so sad this song got cut off the album it almost stands toe to toe with Cygnus Vismund Cygnus and Cassandra gemini
Most of this album was just decent, but the final songs on each discs were genuinely incredible.
Never would I have expected a 20 minute long drone song to blow me away, but it really did. There was genuinely such a soul-shatteringly beautiful sound to it and i felt like i could have listened to it forever. Even though its mostly just a descending melody that repeats, there's just something so soothing yet devastating about the song, and I can't really explain why. Speck Fears is ... read more
Really great stuff. Lots of really good live renditions of already incredible studio songs, as well as many great improv sessions. I think my main problem with this is that there are too many repeat songs which kind of bloats the length of the album. Other than that, this is a really incredible live album.
Yeah no this isn't worth your time. There were multiple parts that did sound genuinely good, but most of the time those parts went on for 2+ hours with no change at all, which is way too much. This isn't to say the entire album was bad though, I actually quite enjoyed section V, it had a decent amount of variety and it also had the best sounding music, so Its good that the album at least ended on a good note. As for the rest of the sections, I just found them to be so incredibly ... read more
yeah sure put a 45 minute song at the end of your album just for shits and giggles why not
Finally managed to listen to this in one sitting!! I was on a plane flight that just so happened to have been 7 hours and 24 minutes long (exactly 4 minutes more than the length of the album), so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get through this thing in one sitting, which is what I did. Daughter of darkness is one of my all-time favourite albums, and I think it makes incredible background music. Every other time I’ve listened to the album, it has always been multiple ... read more
I heard some incredible things about this album, and it did not disappoint. Honestly I think this might be Merzbow’s best solo project. Really good stuff
