i am bashing my head against the wall. this album just does not hit for me. Reptilia my beloved is here. but what is its purpose when almost all the songs around it make me feel nothing? what does Is This It and The New Abnormal have that this lacks? i bash my head into the wall one more time. i enjoy it but most of the middle tracks go in one ear and out the other.
do i need help or do i need to move on with my life?
The songs that hit absolutely hit. The guitars are the main draw for me. They're perfectly groovy. The bass and drums support them perfectly, and Julian's filtered vocals are the cherry on top. The songs that don't hit for me are good, but not what I see as worthy of the praise that is given. It grew on me after a few listens. Love it.
This is such an amazing album. The choruses and riffs are catchy. The vocals are immaculate. Every listen reminds me of how great it is.

I love the production and the vocal performances on this. In those aspects I believe this is better than Short n' Sweet. My biggest complaint is that the subject matter and lyrics have not changed a lot. She still talks about sex in a fun and playful manner in a variety of ways that I truthfully enjoy but the fact she definitely has more to her and doesn't dive deeper into the concept laid out on the cover and title drags it down.
Aside from that, Tears is such a funny, groovy, and ... read more
of his old good albums this one certainly aged the best and is my favorite. without me is his best song period.
So funky. So groovy. Such an easy album to just pick up and listen and vibe with. Also greatly appreciate the pussy eating lines. The 2020s have been a renaissance for real eaters.
This album is SO good. I just wish the last three songs (before the bonus track) were good.
Here he full sends into the 80's aesthetic in every way and I love it. It feels so much more abstract than After Hours and it ends in enlightenment and acceptance which is honestly beautiful.
Overall very quality music. He was definitely going for introspection which he did with his storytelling songs but there are some parts where there are straight up bangers, that I enjoy, but I don't always know how songs like Rah Tah Tah, Sticky, and Thought I Was Dead fit into the album's concept.
This album is good and I stand by it. The rating is only me TRYING to be objective (i am failing miserably).
If the future has Kendrick Lamar going crazy on a SOPHIE beat then take me away.
Banana is a good album. I mean it's right there. Madlib and Freddie.
I could make so many 'your mom' jokes here but I'm what we like to call 'mature'.
