I guess The Starman had become more joyful since the final song on the 'Heroes': The Secret of Arabia. And that's why I feel like this album sounds a lot happier compared to Low and 'Heroes'.
I think I'm the only one who don't like Thom Yorke vocal style, although he tried to sound depressed and desolate, but it's just not my type of depression?
Moving away from the vocals, the instruments genuinely sounds great, krautrock-influenced guitar riffs with a tone attempting to integrate ethereal sounds with technological feelings. Albeit sometimes the drum mix might sometimes feel off.
I have watched multiple reviews about this concept album, seems like OK Computer has ... read more
Despite most of the Deep Purple albums are not my jam, this one is exceptional.
Why they put Not Responsible as a bonus trackš„
Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me is the only great song on this album how
Whatever man this is not an album, more like a single
Thanks to John Bonham that drum snare is everything in my life, and it's utilized perfectly on this album.
Favourite song: Persephone
Least favourite: Donimo
While the 1st and the title (3rd) track are having the same song structure, the noise soundscape created a mild difference making the songs more intriguing and intense.
2nd track "Nag's" is more oriented to drone music than typical power electronics songs.
At last "Anatomy Shatterme", this might be my favourite song on this album. It integrates industrial/noise soundscape with audiences' clapping to create a unique "rhythm" ---- A true definition of ... read more
Some might prefer First And Last And Always over this, but for me this is their best work, songs like Dominion/Mother Russia, Lucretia My Reflection, Neverland and Flood I + II have the drum machine hits harder than anything, also the impeccable basslines in Driven Like The Snow! Andrew Eldritch is a genius on this album.
Compared to its predecessor Floodland, also the most iconic Gothic rock album, Vision Thing was the departure of their Gothic soundings and an attempt to open the US market by political themes song like its title track. (And personally I think it's a downgrade as songs pattern are predictable and too repetitiveš„) For example: Doctor Jeep goes on on and on... Really that's the message, placing the most boring song on this album before their very best song More!
I don't really "feel" this album, it's kinda different compared to their previous output, which I feel less resonating
Compared to the first record, this "artist" know how to tell a story this time. It was haunting, an album that you don't want hear for a second time.
It's disturbing, gruesome, horrifying. What an unique way to inform people about pedophilia, but seriously, Yes Daddy is so realistic that I'm questioning myself about the definition of music.
First 3 tracks + title track are excellent, while the remaining are purely fillers.
