While they're a recent discovery of mine, Pinkshift feel like a breath of fresh air for me. Honestly, I am absolutely in love with their singer's voice. The lyrics and instrumentals on this album work really well, coming together to create a very fun listening experience, maybe a bit repetitive at times, but, well, at least it's cohesive! My biggest qualm here is that some of the songs are criminally short, "let me drown" being the biggest offender. Just a personal pet ... read more
Fuck Morrissey but my god, I Know It's Over means a lot to me. Sometimes you feel very alone, and sometimes a song written by a dickhead helps cope with that a little bit. Solid album. I don't believe I can say anything about it that hasn't been said before, so... That's that.
Three favorites from this album: I Know It's Over, There Is a Light That Never Goes Out, Cemetry Gates.
A little break from the usual stuff. I was scrolling along, as one does, and accidentally stumbled upon this album--you see, I had no idea Eluveitie were still active. Good kid, m.A.A.d city is an incredible concept album but also an important piece of writing, touching on very real problems and struggles (from ... read more
I always repeat the same things here anyway, so let's check them off the list: solid album, great vocals, insane instrumentals, really good lyrics. Now that that's out the way, what else could I say?.. Hmm, some of the songs flow so well into each other (Hyper Music and Plug in Baby for example.) I really love the composition of many pieces on this album as well, it's so nice to focus and listen in to the instruments in the background. I also greatly enjoyed the themes of the ... read more
