While Stankonia was more explosive and aggressive, this album is the complete opposite. Using more chilled out vibes and production to help compliment their more laid back raps to then make this chilled out album that just makes for an easy yet complex listen with their rhymes. They did a great job in giving this album a spacey vibes with really clean production that just compliments their raps super well. Andre and Big Boi were up and coming rappers and I think wanted a more fleshed out and easy project to listen to while also being heavily layered whether that be sonically or lyrically. This albums starts to get more intimate than their debut talking about a life of crime on Mainstream, Being seen as someone different on E.T. finish it off with one of OutKasts most intimate tracks about duo pondering about their future on 13th Floor/Growing Old. If you want to get into outkast discography, I would say to start off with this album since its the easiest to listen to while having great and interesting production while also being deep lyrically and great performances.
