Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin

Man for an album coming out in 1969 at the height of Beatles and Rolling Stones popularity, this is so heavy and such a breath of fresh air. It is so explosive as a debut and it so versatile and packs a massive punch within its 44 minute runtime. Imagine listening to the beatles and then hearing Good Times Bad Times for the first time and just being blown away. It is absolutely insane how much ambition they have in their music. Plant's voice is so electric and so much energy and passion as ... read more

My 200th Rating and the final album in this discog deep dive. And I have to say that I was quite underwhelmed but it was to be expected with the track record of their previous records post Staley's death. But I feel at this point the music is becoming kinda redundant and felt there wasn't anything really redeeming about the album. Of course it doesn't bad by any means but yet again it fails to caputure your attention and provide anything that is out of the ordinary. I feel the ... read more

Having the same issue with this album along with the last one. In that it is an album that is good but nothing interesting in here that is keeping me intrigued. Like on the surface the album does sound good, has great production, decent vocals and decent instrumentataion. But again, nothing really in the album was intriguing to me honestly. Felt pretty generic and doesn't innovate on what the band has already done in their previous work and It felt like it was very similar to their ... read more

Honestly I listened to this a few days ago and I kinda forgot to review it. It was kinda forgetable to be honest. Staley untimely death really felt like they lost a big piece of the band and most of the overall identity on the band to be honest. But with William's arrival I feel that they did the best job that they could in continuing their signature sound. His vocal style to some extent is somewhat similar and you can hear Staley's vocal style within him and I understand why he does ... read more

Very well done live album. Up there as one of the best live albums of all time with a very unique twist of being mostly acoustic. While I still stand that Portishead Live in Roseland is still the best live album I have ever heard, this is not so far behind. The Portishead live album was extremely good since it was able to elevate their songs on top of what they already had and made it sound better better and brighter in the Live version. This on the other hand doesn't expand and make it ... read more

Decent record from AIC in their self titled. I feel this is a downgrade from Dirt and Jar Of Flies but it is still a decent album nonetheless. They were able to mix both the acoustic sound they used on Jar Of Flies here along with grunge elements on a few tracks here and there but overall it was still the iconic sound that they were known for. But I feel this project is just falling into the same hole that their debut did in that it is a good project but suffers to have an identity that puts in ... read more

This record was my first introduction to AIC (more specifically No excuses) and wow. Coming from Dirt to this, is unbelieveably exceptional. This might be up there as probably the greatetst EP of all time. The sound that the project that it gives off is completely is different compared to the previous and it is not the typical grunge/rock music that you are typically accustomed to but rather it is this acoustic rock album with minor electric elements sprinkled in. It is a complete left turn ... read more

When it comes to grunge this probably is up there are as a top three grunge album of all time in my opinion. AIC really nailed the sound they were going for on this record compared to their debut and it shows here. It really feels they have found their footing from their debut and are able to have their own unique sound so that they were able to stand out from one another within the grunge scene. I feel that came a lot from Staley's vocals as I feel he found his footing on his vocal ... read more

Alice in Chains - Facelift

Very solid debut from Alice in Chains. It definetely is showcaseing the emerging grunge scene very well and this album is for sure fun and basically no skips. But other than being fun, it doesn't do anything to crazy or intriguing for an album. I don't think AIC have quite found their sound yet and the album can sound a little redudant but not in a bad way by any means. AIC were able to follow a consistent pattern from song to song that made the formula for the album that it is so it ... read more

This is probably the hardest review I have to make not because its due its personal nature or complexities of it. But it is because it's an album that I love but have no really idea why I love it. It is scratching my brain like no other album has done before and don't really know how to put my thoughts together on why this is a masterpiece. By conventional standards, it's an album that should be seen as noise pollution. But yet, it somehow works for reasons that I cannot put my ... read more

Janet Jackson - The Velvet Rope

Needed a pallete cleanser after what I have been listening to recently and I gotta say this was such a nice change of pace and this Janet album is definetly a top tier in terms of being a R&b, Soul and Pop Record. I feel it nails the landing on all of those aspects and being sonically vibrant and layered. I like that the album starts off super strong with Velvet Rope, You and Go Deep and overtime is starts to decline in terms of the sounds being really laid back and chill rather than ... read more

Drake - For All The Dogs

Final album (for now) in his discography deep dive and I have to say that this is definetely a Drake Album of all time. There is nothing really interesting in this project that I feel warranted to talk about without sounded redundant this point. The album lacks direction and struggles to find it's identity compared to the rest of his projects and feels like a copy of CLB in a way without any of the hidden gems that it had but it was able to be better than Honestly, Nevermind which ... read more

Drake & 21 Savage - Her Loss

Not gonna lie this has some bangers on it. I feel from a production standpoint it stands out in his discography but yet again I feel he fails to put on good performances compared to some of his better projects and I feel 21 Savage is able to carry most of the tracks that he is on. Rich Flex and Spin Bout U go so crazy and then just Drake gives the most monotone performances on these tracks in my opinion. Despite the artists being decent in their own right, I feel they lack chemistry a little ... read more

Kanye West - BULLY

Didn't love it but didn't hate it. It is definetely better than the Vulture Albums and feel these are way more sonically grounded compared to those projects which is a good thing. But it doesn't go above and beyond to what you're used to with normal kanye which I doubt we will see again. But other than that there is not much to go off of. A lot of the songs feel that they could be more and only are the bare minimum of reaching that two minute mark. I wish he was able to ... read more

Drake - Honestly, Nevermind

Wow, just when I thought his music couldn't get any lower, it does. This record probably has to be the worst songs that he has put out thus far. His vocal performances are some of the worst (especially on Falling Back) that he has done and it is just super off putting for the instrumentals that are within this album. The only pro I have to this record is some of the production elements since they sound good (maybe except for that one squeaky sound on Currents, I have no clue what choices ... read more

Drake - Certified Lover Boy

I feel I am pretty biased about this album since it came out in senior year of high school and kinda bumped it here and there with my homies and probably why I am rating it higher than its average. But overall it is pretty bad and understand how many of the songs are pretty bad and how I and a lot of people I know ironically listened to Girls Want Girls and Way 2 Sexy since they were bad and how much we used to make fun of the album cover. But I lowkey feel there are more hidden gems on this ... read more

Drake - Dark Lane Demo Tapes

Honestly this mixtape showed a lot more variety than I thought it would but still falls flat in a lot of areas. Again I feel the same way about this project compared to his last mixtape as it does show off some versatility since it is a mixtape he has a chance to experiment with different songs that doesn't necessarily need to come together. But the songs itself are very mediocre and provide no addition to Drake's versatility as an artist at all in my opinion despite the multiple ... read more

Drake - Care Package

I feel this is ever so slightly better than Scorpion but not by much. I feel at this point my criticism for drake's music is getting kinda redundant and what I said previously before on his previous projects is going to stay true for this one and even future projects. But at least this project is slightly better than Scorpion in my opinion. The list of tracks are slightly elevated in production and his performances are slightly better but not good enough to rave home about. I feel the ... read more

Drake - Scorpion

Man this album is so bloated and feel that there is just way too much in this album with none of it fitting together. Some of the songs are just super lack luster and have nothing to them. Some of Drake's worst songs that I have heard so far are on this project (and I assume it gets worse) and the rest of the songs give no sense of identity to the album as it just feels a glorified mixtape. If I listened to this album not knowing if this was an album or a mixtape I would assume it could ... read more

Drake - More Life

Honestly don't have too much to say about this project. The songs are not bad but not good either. They have the bare minimum to make a decent song but nothing much other than that. Drake's performances are decent here and there but nothing to rave about. The features I feel are the best part of the project as they give way more life to the songs compared to what Drake was able to do alone here. Skept, Giggs, Jorja Smith and Sampha all put on really good performances and the songs ... read more
