ever since I was a
Great album. KAYTRANADA is such a diverse and interesting producer, it seems like he can legitimately work with anyone. Whether its rappers, R&B singers, or PinkPantheress. All of the beats on this sound great. I love the drums, how the samples are used, everything. And everyone else gives good performances too. I especially loved Anderson .Paak, Childish Gambino, Durand Bernarr, and even the short Thundercat appearance which made me chuckle. Great time overall.
This MIGHT be Build a Bitch
Good record. Good amount of great songs on this, from the phenomenal "Rain on Me" to the surprisingly good "Sine from Above" with Elton John, there's a decent amount to enjoy with this record. I like how the production this time around focuses more on House and Euro styles. Good stuff.
This dog is fucked up bruh
This is a good Breaks album. Super high energy and exciting throughout its entire runtime. I like how this one is more repetitive than others I have heard from Machine Girl, which gives it a ton of use in a club or DJ setting. This sounds like it could keep a party going for a long time. Overall, great time.
Looks like it would take you to the secret slide
Great album. Laura has an amazing voice, all of the instrumentation was beautiful and calming and emotional, and the lyrics were top notch in terms of storytelling and introspection. Loved it.
Is his middle name 3D?
Great album. Ton of amazing beats, Navy Blue has a great flow and really solid lyrics throughout, all the features from Mike Shabb to the posthumous Ka feature were all great, and especially the final track "F.E.A.R." really showed off just how amazing he is as an artist. Overall, another great album from him.
Who the FUCK put the building in italics???
Really cool Darkwave project. While I did not understand the lyrics, I feel like I don't have to in order to enjoy this record. The beats are fire from front to back. The insanely catchy drums, those low synths, the heavy filters on the vocals, it all sounds wonderful. The first track specifically reminded me of Depeche Mode a lot. Overall, fire album.
Courtney Pine mentioned
Great Jazz Rap album. Guru of Gang Starr fame released a record that is self described as a fusion of Hip Hop and Jazz. He certainly made that. The beats are super cool to listen to, Guru has a great flow the whole time, and the many features all work to the album's favour. Good time overall.
I MUST DANCE
That Kid's new record is pretty good. There's a ton of fun bangers on here that sound straight out of 2008-2012 era Pop music. The production goes hard, and That Kid's performance is solid throughout. Good time overall. However, what did underscores produce? I gotta know.
Walkin round the hood like i'm John Wayne
Lady Gaga's 5th album is fine. The big hit was "Million Reasons," but "John Wayne" is my favourite track on this one. It had a great Just Dance map too. The dive into Country Pop is kinda hit or miss for me, but she can do a Country song alright. Overall, nothing I'm really gonna come back to, but was alright otherwise.
Bro. These bitches really do love Sosa
Great mixtape. Of course it has the classic "I Don't Like" on it, but there's a good amount of other bangers on it too, like "Winnin'" and "True Religion Fein." Great stuff.
Average Terraria bossfight
SLIFT impressed me with their 2024 record "ILION." I initially rated it like a 7/10, but having spun it on vinyl, its starting to grow on me a lot more. The super trippy guitars and killer vocals, which this album gave me more of. The guitars on this one are flying all over the place at times and it fucking rocks. The vocals still hit, and THANK GOD its shorter. The last one was good, but it did not need to be over an hour. So I really appreciate the ... read more
wow Lil Peep sounds different
Vince Staples follows up his 2024 banger "Dark Times" with a really cool dive into Punk and Rap Rock. The lyrics are pretty direct about politics and the state of the world, and Vince's flows and delivery are great as always. The production is the highlight for me though. This is, to my knowledge, the first time Vince himself was credited as a main producer on an album. And he should 100% do that more because this stuff rocks. The guitars are great, ... read more
Album cover is a mood
This was my first exposure to this artist period. I know "Earrings" is popping off right now, so I feel like this album is gonna do very well commercially, which it honestly deserves to, because this album is pretty dang good. Its Bedroom Pop, good Bedroom Pop at that, but then he'll throw in a juicy synth line or an electric guitar that brings each track to another level. Not just something to stare at the ceiling too, but songs you can also jam out too ... read more
Thanks. I guess
Dang good Indie Rock record. The vocals hit, the instrumentation was exciting and emotional, and it had a lot of great moments of lyrical storytelling. Good time overall.
Smoking that Eye of Newt
One of the trippiest albums I have ever heard. I sort of regret not smoking for this one, but oh well. The guitars are insanely good, as are the drums. The vocals go hard and all of it together gives off a very hazy and wavy sound. Some songs are longer than maybe they should be, but that's not really a gripe at all. Overall. great experience.
LIFE IS A HIGHWAAAAAAAY
Pretty good album. Its just some very solid late 70s Power Pop with some New Wave elements thrown in. "Just What I Needed" is the obvious standout from this project, but tracks like "Moving In Stereo" and "All Mixed Up" were pretty great too. Overall, good time.
Hollow to you too
Having never played the game, this soundtrack is great. Swelling orchestral moments complimented by quieter piano-driven tracks make this whole experience very atmospheric. It feels like there's a real sense of worldbuilding within these tracks, even without the aid of lyrics. Overall, this game is probably great.
I think there's a problem, what do you think Conductor?
This is a damn good album. Just 50 minutes of extremely air-tight and fire Hip Hop. The production is wonderful, each beat sounding either menacing or laid back in a great way, Rome Streetz has a great delivery and flow over each track, and the various features all pull their weight on their tracks. I especially loved the lyrics on this one. Tons of great storytelling in tracks like "Long Story Short." Overall, great time. ... read more
