I first listened to this album not long after its release and I fairly enjoyed it but I didn't love it. After a few months, I decided to relisten to it on a whim and it absolutely captivated me. Just something about Cameron Winter's raw vocals made me fall in love with this album so much. Some of the tracks genuinely made me tear up. What a fucking masterpiece.
At first I was going to disregard this album as another BCNR clone, but this is so much more than that. Even on my first listen all I had in my mind was that it felt too much like Ants From Up There but as I got further into the album it really finds its own identity. The lush and atmospheric instrumentation really immerses you into its melancholy and this atmosphere is carried on throughout the entire runtime of the album.
