Ambitious and influential Experimental Hip Hop, production that consistently blows you away. Best track is "Rain Come Down"
Very consistent though some tracks can just pass you by, but that tracks that hit, hit HARD. Best track is "ENERGY"
A great R&B album from this year, consistently great with incredibly vibe-y songs, and with a very solid story relayed with lyrical callbacks and repetition makes this easily the most underrated album of this year. It is a crime that this isn't played on radio stations. Best track is "WASTE TIME"
Can get a bit messy in the latter half of the tracklist, but the first half is amazingly consistent. Best track is "Brambleton"
One of the most amazing 5 track runs at the end of this album. Would be the most consistently amazing album this year and an honest AOTY contender if not for Welcome Back. Best track is "Written in the stars"
Noisy in the best way, but also sometimes noisy in the worst way, like really what is "Haarlem"? Best track is "Heavy Water"
Though amazing at points, it definitely can feel lacking and unfulfilling, which definitely is not wanted with an album 1 hour and 20 minutes in length. Best track is "Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You"
Going into this album I did not expect much, but I was blown away with how amazing the sound of this record is, hooky pop-rap with some of the best produced songs of this year. Best track is "RUNAWAY W ME"
A beautiful peace of work with some of the most impressive storytelling in years. Best track is Guilty
This record feels as if midwxst is trying to lean into a sound more different than his typical hyperpop rap, and although I'm not crazy about this album, I respect him trying to lean into a different sound than what he is used to.
Midwxst's best produced studio record, hella bangers, and an overall good experience
