woah this guy sounds like earl sweatshirt!!
May God Bless Your Hustle is a raw album. none of the songs are about a specific topic, they're like vents and streams of consciousness, which i think is really beautiful.
topics on this album range from Mike's struggles with Depression, Suicidal Thoughts (sometimes), how he dealt with those issues, aswell as his general struggles with poverty as a young man.
and the way he delivers those topics to you (as the listener) is damn near perfect. ... read more
there were some really cool tracks but this overrall just didn't impress me
I don't know about this album.
on one hand there are some beautiful instrumentals with some really impressive vocal performances that just feel bright.
on the other hand there are bits where it feels a little boring and uninspired.
I am not sure.
a noticeable bump in quality compared to the last ep. excited to hear more!
extremely fun. the writing can get a little awkward but it's still overrall very enjoyable. Bruno Mars is an excellent vocalist, but the production felt lacking at parts (it felt a little generic) but I guess that's part of it's charm? idk
absolutely beautiful.
this is a compilation of some the best witch house/ cloud rap beats I've ever heard.
the atmosphere is otherworldly, and it was overrall such an amazing experience listening to this compilation for the first time.
Clams Casino is truly the best producer in his genre, and the famous "I Am God" instrumental is proof, it might genuinely be a top 5 beat of all time.
this just sounds outdated in 2024
it's still a solid album though with a lot of amazing moments.
some dull ones here and there though
Denzel delivered once again with a really fun album that has amazing production and outstanding verses and features.
although it doesn't compare to his more conscious work like MMESYF or T13OO, it's still an overrall solid album by his standards.
a small issue that I had with album is that it's a little too short, but I suppose that's better than it being too bloated.
This album is fucking amazing man.
beautiful production (some of the best I've ever heard from a "conscious hiphop" record) Common's raps are hungry and passionate, and his flows are smooth.
I enjoyed just about everything that this record had to offer, but the production was a clear highlight for me. early - mid 2000s Kanye was a BEAST in terms of production back then, and J Dilla is...well, J Dilla, an absolute legend.
this record had me smiling from ear to ear the entire ... read more
that was an absolutely beautiful listen.
the production is heavenly (even eerie at times), and James' Vocals are as good as ever on this record.
extremely consistent despite it's LONG runtime of about an hour and 15 minutes.
the highlights were super impressive, not as good as the highlights on Overgrown but I think this album was overrall more consistent than Overgrown.
very fun listen, I didn't even feel like it dragged
maybe a little towards the end? but I feel like this about ... read more
this is such a huge step up from his debut album.
it's more fleshed out sonically and the production is just on point this time.
it's much less ambient and more electro/pop.
Blake's performances were amazing too! he was so emotional and passionate through this entire record.
the highlights on this are also notably higher in quality (The title track and the outro being my favourites)
great album, can't wait to hear more from him
