teejayx6 is one of my favorite artists of all time but he's washed at this point. not terrible but he won't ever be as good as he was in 2019-2020. his music these days sounds like he's doing a 10kkev impression- not ideal.
Glad to hear Glo back on Swish beats again. The ideas here were good but the execution is a bit lacking. I hate to be that guy but the mixing is subpar and makes listening to the songs less enjoyable. The vocals are significantly louder than the beats and I can barely hear the claps in some of the beats because they’re so drowned out in the mix.
Anyways, the best songs on here are the ones where he’s on Swish beats. He needs to give up this Che cosplay he’s been doing for the ... read more
HE’S BACK!!
It’s meh. There’s a few slappers. It would’ve benefited from a reduced track list, some songs just felt like filler tracks.
He’s still got it vocally in terms of hitting notes and his voice still sounds about as good as before (something many artists I like have an issue keeping on point over time). However, his issue now is playing it safe with flows, note fluctuations and beat selection. The beats were fairly well made, just not really my taste in ... read more
DISAPPOINTING
I enjoy ian but overall this was pretty disappointing. Good moments here and there but it got boring at times for me. I can respect the attempt to fall back from being put in the box of being a “future and gucci mane clone” but I believe ian is at his best when he’s making hard trap songs like on Valedictorian. On the bright side, Valedictorian 2 is coming in December. Valedictorian is one of my highest rated albums ever so hopefully he comes through on that.
light 2 is a revolutionary song, that beat pretty much completely shaped my music taste ever since.
AM I DREAMING???
Or did Destroy Lonely finally put out something I wouldn’t label as pure slop? 👏
I’m far from the biggest Destroy Lonely fan but he actually put out an alright project. Granted, the production carries, but he’s improved his flow and his vocal preset on most songs here is better than usual. I didn’t want to turn it off after a few tracks like with his other projects. Still lacking in certain areas like mixing and lyricism but I’m genuinely ... read more
The chaos continues and does not disappoint. While it has its quirks, Ken elevates with this new release. His growth in technical rapping ability and lyricism is evident, along with a slightly broader ear for rage production. Although the production and overall songs may lack hit potential compared to "A Great Chaos, " they offer premium deep-cut experiences for those seeking exactly what this album is meant to be: "More Chaos," an essential sequel to "A Great ... read more
While it's far from a masterpiece, there are things to like about Nine Vicious' YSL debut project. The best and most exciting aspect of the project is, by far, Nine's adlibs. The screamy, loud vocal inflections and adlibs (while not nearly as impressive) are reminiscent of 'Whole Lotta Red.' The production is fairly unique, drawing sample melodies throughout with a signature modernized trap drum style. Overall, the project sounds like a blend of pre-'MUSIC' ... read more
