"You're so handsome when I'm all over your mouth"
This is one of the most cohesive concept albums I've heard. Ptolemaea's haunting vocals, Strangers' anger, and overall acceptance, it's incredible. I disagree with the "female rage" perspective that many view this album through. Like a film, I see it in three stages: genesis, purpose, and death.
"Pulling your face close / Wanting the inmost / Show me I'm not afraid of you now"
One of the most beautiful albums about every kind of love
This entire album was recorded in a cabin in Massachusetts. This is so naked, Adrianne Lenker is baring her soul to that microphone, and I will listen to every word she says.
"You raped me in the same bed your daughter was born in, good morning"
I think this album changed my life!!!!
I love the production and stabby lyrics. This album means everything to me.
