This album is fun. Although it can sound a little safe in some parts, she delivers good flow and groove when needed. Sonically and lyrically, it seems to have more intention into the creative direction if we (inevitably) compare it to Lisa’s album. To me, the only real problem with Ruby is that after Damn Right the songs become kinda boring and forgettable. It would be a solid, great album, if it had ended by track 10.
favs: like JENNIE, ZEN, handlebars
I was expecting a lot more after listening to born again and ended up dissapointed. The album as a whole is not terrible, but it's also not good. It has some hip hop and early 2000s influences, the singles show she has potential to do great pop, but I feel like i'ts lacking some substance
also production feels kinda dry (??
favs: born again, moonlit floor (kiss me), chill.
