so good! the ballads on sour are some of olivia's weakest songs, so "the cure" proves that she's put the work in. the melodies are so evocative and there is a true sonic arc. evokes the smashing pumpkins and 2000s emo in its sound and melodrama. the last chorus hits like absolute crack and i think that's what's gonna keep me reaching back for this
olivia's weakest lead, but i'm very excited for the album! the replayability isn't there for me honestly. what this did clarify is that olivia has GREAT taste... this second verse reheating don't delete the kisses nachos (aka one of the best songs of all time).
Astounding. A breath of fresh air in pop music. While slightly overstuffed, "THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE." sees RAYE in peak vocalist-producer-songwriter form. What the hell are they feeding those kids at The BRIT School?
So unbelievably good. A thematically complex collection of multimedia. Emotive production at its finest. DOOM and Madlib have an alchemy that is off the charts. Just from a couple Google searches during my first listen, they've sampled Street Fighter and Bollywood (can't wait to dig into more). Ecstatic to listen to something entirely new to me that I already know will be a permanent fixture in my rotation.
