absolutely a decisive album, and i understand why.
content and flow wise, this feels way too repetitive for peggy. especially for someone whose past albums always kept me on my toes, and constantly had surprises in them. this... not so much. the production is still crazy good, but the rapping feels like an afterthought. lyricism has never been his strongest suit, sure, but he'd drop funny, witty and quotable bars. everything on here just feels like "fuck my haters, i'm fucking ... read more
almost too short and sweet. i always admire brevity, but i think in this instance i would've preferred a longer tracklist. even at eight tracks, it almost feels split into two sides. the first being more rap focused bangers, and the second having a more melodic flavour. not opposed to this, and i like mostly every track but it does feel a less cohesive than i would've wanted. particular standouts here are obviously denzel, bk, key nyata and tiacorine. the only real shit feature is ... read more
such a fun, quick burst of an album. it shows that even with some as low stakes as this, tyler does not disappoint as a producer. his instrumentals are fucking insane on this. hell, my favourite track is the one where only yebba appears on it. i love how the instrumental can carry it, alongside her vocals and the reoccurring samples. it's so serene and pretty, it honestly reminds me of when i was last in love. i didn't expect this album of all things to bring me tears, but that is ... read more
a super consistent, short and sweet album. i think this is baby keem's best and most expressive efforts, without the weaker baggage of the previous two records. the album has earwormy pop rap and hard hitting bangers that we know keem for, but also much more vulnerable tracks. it feels like we're actually getting a feel for what his life was like. he also loves to throw in a track which is completely different stylistically, like "dramatic girl". i was surprised to dig this ... read more
such a refreshing listen, it just sounds really nice to have such a well-produced and versatile album. rocky really balances things with the harder rap tracks and the smoother singing cuts. i think he pulls it off really well! both singles were solid, but sound a lot better in the context of the album. plus, they sound as if they've been mixed better or have more development to its production.
STOLE YA FLOW is the album's highlight. such a hard, energetic banger. PLAYA is sooooo ... read more
