Take everything that made their previous two albums so great, and crank it up to 11. I love how theatrical this album sounds, the writing builds these abstract, incredible worlds, and it truly does sound like I'm being taken through a journey through hell. Probably their best and most complete sounding album of the three they released. It feels fitting that this may very well be their final album, given that this album sounds like the best possible album these guys could've made, and how final this album feels. Where Schlagenheim was the Kicking down of the door, and Cavalcade was the meticulous evolution of their sound, this album was the giant crescendo and the curtain falling on black midi.
