This is a great compilation of pop songs that happen to all be by Jade. I hate the sequencing. It doesn’t feel like an album. It’s a series of well executed ideas, with little cohesive through line.

This would be my lowest rated Big thief album. Hard to fully comprehend why I struggle to connect with this project, but their usual magic seems to be altered and compounded with new ingredients that leave me with more questions than the usual profound answers. The lyrics feel half baked—especially for Adrienne—and melodically I’m lost at times, missing the usual hook that pulls me in and keeps me coming back— infinitely.

There’s some really great music on this; however, although it’s only 42 minutes in runtime, it lags at times and becomes a bit redundant. Love her sound and style.
