On first listen, I wasn't sure what to make of it. I liked it, and knew it not only required further listening but demanded it. Now, she's on repeat, and there's something infectious about the whole album. An intimate, auto biographical "bed-room"(?) pop album that tells relatable, tragic, funny, coming-of-age stories in such a unique but simple manner with sparse yet large lyrical content well beyond that of your teenage self.

Such a strong first half, but unfortunately falters on side b to retain the same level of mastery

Opened the floodgates to what popular music could be. A timeless collection of songs that truly evoke the sound of an era.

A labyrinth of stories (almost like train-of-thought passages from a diary) told with lush orchestrations (that occasionally reminding me of the earlier work of Sufjan Stevens) with immaculate production, and her hushed whispered delivery, all create this haunting and intimate record that is for the entire run-time enveloping, delightful, seducing, engaging, reflective, and ultimately individualized. A must listen.

A fantastic Debut LP. Engaging and consistent from start-to-finish. An artist worth watching as she develops and expands her range, audience, influence, and sound.
