granted not on the level of gray area. but little simz delivers more fun tracks with decent production and slightly more simplified lyricism. not bad by any means
i think many people have misconceptions on this album. Criticising rejjie’s position with the laid back style to make the production centre stage. In the words of the man himself, he cared much more about each track being a song than just a rap track, and he managed to allow that to happen by giving Dana williams opportunity to roam free and show off her amazing vocals. Granted Rejjie isn’t gifted vocally, but he was the gateway to make each song into individual something

people really just come here to criticise anything don’t they?? this is a compilation may i add, not an album... it’s meant to sound like a mish mash of home recordings, cuz that’s what it is !!!!!!!! a compilation ok, not an album.
inconsistent at times. a few absolutely outstanding tracks that needed to be emulated throughout the whole album. if Deaton focuses on the funky upbeat tunes that were prevalent in tracks such as ‘1999 she’ and ‘RACECAR’ this could’ve been scored a whole lot higher. A change up in styles i didn’t expect and i also didn’t like. But again, some great tracks just hope on the next project he focuses on the style mentioned. Lots of potential.
the vocal version of not in love really saves this project as it’s an absolutely phenomenal song. but, everything else just doesn’t sit with me for some reason.
the last track alone brings this up, because it’s the greatest achievement in musical history, to this day.
strong array of tracks added into EA, continuing with the same theme - with just as good if not better production. I think the deluxe offered a better array of tracks overall but the best track is on the original - and the original works better as a project. That’s the thought behind the rating (the same as the original) I’d also somewhat argue that uzi’s features outshine him to an extent - can be perceived as a good thing or a bad thing.
this is, a piece of art. not just because of its backstory, although that helps it tremendously. The musical excellence behind this project man. Having both the rotted versions and rekindled versions is such a cool idea and i love it even if i prefer the remastered version a lot more because it’s easily accessible. I can easily appreciate the rotted versions just as much.
singles are much better than their EPs. Here it comes again and Fishing to be exact.
underwhelming. as mentioned many times. i really like zack and he has a fair few stand out tracks that i revisit. but he has not once nailed a full project down for revisiting or appreciating. he has a great voice and aesthetic but again, most tracks are forgetful and somewhat repetitive in many ways. lots are saying it grows on them so i’m hoping that’s the case here, if i ever think of relistening...
i had to add this myself because it wasn’t on the site despite being one of my favourite albums of all time. Transitions are excellent, flow and vocals are excellent and production is magnificent. Please check this out and review because Lausse is for sure the most underrated in the UK Hip Hop game.
not growing on me tbh. many songs have become very very forgettable. still a very good project tho!
another album i’m rating 75 this year, lol. i like the whole aesthetic of the LP and i think for my first introduction to soccer mommy this is very good, apart from a few repetitive tracks that sound similar, i like it a lot.
although i haven’t reviewed any other of his projects yet. i do have some knowledge of his previous music i just haven’t listened to a full project all the way through. This is my first opportunity, and it’s... good. yeah, it’s good. I like King Krule. I don’t think it’s anything special but it’s solid.
the greatest album of all time. i cried. that’s never happened before. connected with me in such a spiritual way i can’t even comprehend.
there’s something about this that i really can not explain. it connects with me in such a unique way. it’s so calming and quiet but also totally conventional of a indie folk record. Elliot Smith perfectly incapsulates the genre with 12 fantastic tracks. another one to add to my record collection i think.
a unique, concise experience with fantastic production. a project i will find myself revisiting often.
i think you have to have grown up in a certain era and in a certain demographic to truly love and appreciate the excellence and brilliance of this project. - Slowthai is definitely one of the few refreshing uk rap artists that i actually enjoy listening too - and that includes loyle carner. He brings something new to the table with his sound in NGAB, but with clear influence from The Streets - OPM in my opinion, which is also another magnificent, iconic project to come out of the UK. It’s ... read more
