Citizen Cope - The Clarence Greenwood Recordings
15

Let's do a very well-versed version of a person that was trying to try to draw a person into mistaken "good music"
This pseudo neo-soul doesn't much past a year a Rugby Ralph Lauren playlist that had to compete with The Nationals "Alligator" in that same year.
This record has no legs. The latter is on the cuspt of a remarkable 20 years.
All the wine is all for you.

Brand New - Sic Transit Gloria...Glory Fades
NR

It's just too damn pandering.
A good melody doesn't make a good record always.
Your AIM will confirm such.
Ask J. Castelano.

The National - First Two Pages of Frankenstein
66

Truly the first disappointing album by them, also the Taylor Song really isn't that good. Enough with the high praise for her. Lavender Haze is credited to 8 "songwriters"
the biggest problem here is it sounds like The National covering The National.
And it's sort of rid of the dirt and nastiness I've gone so accustomed to since Alligator.
Lastly no, it's not a return to form from those records. No Mr. November and no trouble to be found.
Yes they've always been referred to as ... read more

lovelytheband - finding it hard to smile
1

So this is funny not a single person came here to say "Wow that single BROKEN sounds ALOT LIKE KIDS BY MGMT"
right down to the chintzy synth time and near full-on stealing of it.
except for these songs just straight up for again, KIDS.
Gross, LES doesn't miss ya Lovely.

Maxim Mental - Evermore (and the Grammy Goes to)
NR

Holy hell, this chorus ruins this song in total.
Just seems like a lot chop and screwee thing going on but man, that borderline Jame blunt awful.
Time hasn’t done Say Anything much service but this is immediately terrible.
8/100

Justin Timberlake - Man of the Woods
5

If you're going to front and try to pull a "For Emma, Forever Ago" and be Man of the Woods
homies got to buy a Tascam tape recorder and live in the sticks for many many a months
and ya know, write a good record.

Arcade Fire - Unconditional I (Lookout Kid)
NR

I didn’t think I was getting a Lumineers single and lo and behold.
This is a strait shot at top 40
It’s weird to hear AF trying to be AF

Adele - Easy On Me
NR

Now, the dissolution of a relationship or marriage is the foundation of Adele since her humble beginnings.
But goddamn this is a pandering tour da force.
Much like ACDC and Metallica your going have near same tropes in every song.
But goodness.
Que piano intro
Explanatory first verse
Fake out chorus.
Getting back on my feet second verse
Double chorus with a moment of dissonance
Bridge of reassurance
Chorus
Curtain drop.

You should’ve come back swinging.
But ya came back sleeping.

The War on Drugs - A Deeper Understanding

Sequencing is everything.
the one - two punch of "Knocked Down" into "Nothing to Find" is perfect.
