I'm a sucker for this particular flavour of hyperpop, so I came into this album with high expectations, but I found myself consistently let down by small issues. The production in this album is great, but it's held back by some amateur lyricism and poor mixing.
The vocal processing on this album is very strange, resulting in the vocals almost sounding AI-generated. I know some AI-powered denoiser and voice changer effects were used on this album, so that could be the culprit. It's a shame these issues with the vocals are so present, as without them, I would have likely enjoyed the album significantly more.
As a whole, the album works really well, and I can understand why so many people love it, but I can't look past these nitpicks with the vocals.
