A pop rock album infused with electronic production and a clear hyperpop sensibility. Trying to describe this album makes me feel like an out of touch boomer who uses “hyperpop” as a codeword for “a trans person made this” but that just shows how fast and loose underscores plays with genre. Hyperpop has been no stranger to rock influences, but I can’t think of any other artist who melds these two genres so seamlessly. Not all of the tracks are as strong as it’s highlights but there is such confidence exuding from this project, you could be excused for thinking she’d been making rock music all her life.
Best tracks are Second hand embarrassment and Spoiled little brat.
