A mixed bag album from Haken. Honestly hard to say what I think of the album as a whole. It has by far the worst “album feel” in their discography. The good doctor and a cell divides just sound like singles to me. They’re also the two worst songs on the album. They’re not bad, just very unambitious and kind of uninteresting. A cell divides’ chorus is great though. And the chorus of The Good Doctor is kind of nostalgic for me for some reason.

Nil by mouth is a good instrumental track that I have nothing to say about and never really listen to.

Every other song is great though. Host is beautiful, and uses the recurring melody in the Vector/Virus double album that I love so much as a chorus. Puzzle box is a fucking banger with great vocals, a great chorus and an absolutely beautiful bridge. And Veil. Veil is one of Haken’s best songs ever. Veil is so beautiful I can’t do it justice by writing about it. You just have to listen to it to get it. Every part is amazing. It carries the album extremely hard honestly.
