Taylor Swift got people onlined đ
I am an unapologetic defender of most of Taylor Swift's work. She's not my favorite artist by any means but I find it silly to pretend like she hasn't ever made a good song in her life. Anyway, I did not much care for Midnights, and I thought TTPD was just terrible, so hearing that she was going back to the pre-Jack pop producers was admittedly intriguing. Like hey, Red is good, 1989 is good. Maybe…

Crazy how the worst track 2 since Vessel is Levitate. EDIT: I was wrong I am dumb this is not track 2 lol oops
I wasn't blown away by the Contract necessarily. I really liked it, but it didn't really make me more excited for Breach. Sure, I was in a big musical phase leading up to auditions, and now that auditions have taken my will to live away until the cast list is announced, I can get back into my beloved depressed band. Maybe that's why I loved this one so much more. A bit ... read more
Something about Dayglow of all artists dropping an explicit song just feels wrong.
Anyway, the songs are good but unfortunately the only songs that hold up to the quality of the original album for me are Atlantis and Superbloom. It's still a fun and charming album and worth a listen.
Favorite Song: Atlantis
Least Favorite Song: Little Alien Spaceman
My favorite part about this song is actually the autotune. For how much people are hating on the "I don't sleep much" part, that's by far the most memorable part of the song for me. Absolutely mind-blowing first listen as a fan, especially considering the lore, but I don't know if it's one of my all-time favorites. Time will tell I suppose.
Gonna go crazy live though đ
It's fine. It's a catchy enough pop song that could be a lot better if she wrote about literally anything else. Already reaching the breaking point on Short n' Sweet, another album of this is likely going to be really tiresome.
I don't care for dubstep. I don't care for Boss Level. It's fun as a novelty song, but I never listen to it. Major laser tag vibes.
The other two songs are pretty great idk what to say.
Favorite Song: Last Life
Least Favorite Song: Boss Level
The remixes I can take or leave, but the two original songs are easily some of the best this album has to offer. Despite making the album longer, this still is shorter than the original release of Adventure, so I can forgive the length and do consider this an improvement on the album overall. I do think the remixes on the original album could have been moved over to this release for a cleaner track list on the original, but I digress.

Dragonfly is Matthew Parker's first independent album. Once he'd left his label, he began to release many singles, most of which would eventually become this album. While the album is dedicated to his wife Savvy, the way this album was assembled resulted in a few somewhat out of place tracks. While Today Is The Day, Unbreakable, Martian Party, and Sailboat are good songs, they don't really fit on the otherwise entirely love-song focused album.
The remixes at the end also feel ... read more
Daydreamer has such incredible highs. Alice is a phenomenal song, and Good Memories kicks off the album wonderfully. Bittersweet is a beautiful track, and Time Stands Still is such an incredible album closer. Unfortunately, the middle of the album is a rather mixed bag. There's not as much sonic variety on this album as there was on Adventure, which does make it drag a little more. While this album does have probably the most personal songwriting he's ever done, it also has some very ... read more
Never Giving Up On You is an all-timer, I Won't Look Back is decent, but for some reason blends in my mind with Down In Flames, a song I do prefer. The Adventure Remix isn't anything special, but the acoustic medley of the entire album does close it all out very nicely. It does make an already too long album longer, but outside of the remix, both tracks hold up against the best of the base album.

Matthew Parker was putting out a lot of music. Maybe too much music, as crazy as that sounds. With this, and The Worlds We Discovered on his side project coming out in the same year, it's incredible he was able to put out this many songs and match the level of quality that he did. With that said, more is not always better. While I might wish for my favorite artists to release massive, hour-plus albums, it's difficult to do so without a dip in quality. While you have some all-timers on ... read more
A kid messing around in his basement can put out some incredible music. Matthew Parker had promise, but I can't say anything he'd put out until this point felt like a truly serious artist. While I'm still not a fan of much of the dubstep influence on this album, this is where you could say he finally became that serious artist.
We Go and Wherever You Are are easily the standouts here, both ranking quite high for me in terms of his catalogue. The rest I can take or leave. While ... read more
Unfortunately, there's next to nothing on this album I ever feel any desire to come back to. I have never been a fan of this type of dubstep, especially with the minimal lyrics. And unfortunately, this suffers from the weaker lyricism and production of a still young Matthew Parker. For those who are Matthew Parker fans and fans of harder, more chaotic EDM, I imagine there's some here you'd latch onto, but for me, many of these tracks make up the very bottom of his ... read more
There's a certain amount of lyrical cheese you'll have to overcome if you want to listen to this album, but there are some genuinely good tracks that do hold up pretty well amongst his more recent catalogue.
Favorite Song: Reaching Out to You
Least Favorite Song: Soli Deo Gloria
I think there's a certain amount of leniency you can give to somebody's first album, especially when they're a teenager. This certainly is no hidden gem, and I wouldn't recommend it to any but the most hardcore MP fans, but there's some decent tracks here. It's almost nothing like anything he would go on to make, but it does have a certain wholesomeness to it.
Favorite Song: All Out (Remix)
Least Favorite Song: I've Always Loved You
I had a vision.
I needed a specific sounding song for a video I was making. After messing with ChatGPT for a while, it spit out this song. I'd never heard it.
Ended up being pretty much perfect for what I needed.
Oh, also this might be a perfect song what the heck.
Lyrically (on paper) not necessarily much better than most Christian music, but when this came on the radio, I did actually pay attention. Maybe the bar for Christian music is so low but I liked this.
Good song. More of this please.
Version with Seph Schlueter is good too.
As much as I like Matthew Parker, I've never found any of his albums to be truly great. There are always good songs, but they definitely lack cohesion. This was most evident on his last album, which while I think it was the best set of songs he'd ever released, it was also the most thrown together. This EP was actually made with an end goal in mind, and so all that is gone. Rather than feeling like a collection of good singles, the songs flow together seamlessly.

Listen there's some good Marvel scores, but this definitely ranks up there with Loki as one of the best. Notably I came out of this movie actually thinking about the score, which doesn't happen often.
Movie was great too, definitely one of the top MCU movies as far as I'm concerned.
The Dayglow song is maybe the first song this year that I've actually been really excited about and it's the only one I'm actually rating.
Jack Black should make a song for every movie he's in.
I'll listen to the rest of the soundtrack after I see the movie we'll see
EDIT: I'm so glad I didn't listen to this beforehand, Jack Black just randomly bursting into song was so funny. Especially the lava chicken song. The entire movie was so dumb, but it was ... read more
