A ten minute confessional EP where one song exists seamlessly with another, blurring into a seemingly never ending soul crushing mix of songs for an experience so real, I had to check in on myself before continuing. It's an absolute masterclass of writing from top to bottom, with some of the most experimental production I've seen in hip hop ever.
This album extends it's awfulness towards the meta level as we delve deep into Trump's second presidency. On the very fundamental musical level, it sucks, and even outside of the fundamental music, it sucks. Everything about it proves to be some of the worst political song writing I've ever heard, ever. Nothing is good in this place.
This is a pretty bad mixtape / venture into rap that I still sort of liked for some reason? It's bad, but it's charming in my opinion. I'd compare it to DEMONDICE, except with far more utility in production value with some genuine highlights, Snarl At Your Friends and modern talking ballet being really good in particular. For being Good Kid's album in which they venture out, I sort of like it. I think a good half of the stuff on here is repetitive and stale though, especially the likes of Ghost Keeper and Coffee. Lots of these songs were sleepers, but not all of them! Generally speaking, it does contain some of the best Good Kid has to offer, however it comes at a cost of making lots of the other songs on here look completely inferior. All in all, fine.
This would genuinely be pretty decent and alright as a release. The only, really severe problem is that Good KId has effectively made the same album four times now. It gets exhausting after a while. Please do more with your music in the future, I'm begging. All in all, generic indie rock
