Pump is another Aerosmith albums in my physical media collection though I'm not sure why. I think I found this one in a used CD bin and it's sat on my shelf for a good many years, mostly collecting dust. There are a few cuts on here that are masterful, Love in an Elevator, Janie's Got a Gun and The Other Side to be specific, and What it Takes is also a playlist worthy track. The album as a whole is a whole heck of a lot more cohesive than Permanent Vacation but still was never an album to which I clamored to take off my shelf and listen, other than the songs I already mentioned. I do like the little intros that a few of the songs have, but I wish this was a theme for every track across the album. Once again I feel like the band and producer had different visions for what they wanted to do with this album, and nobody won. I gravitate more toward Get a Grip as my favorite "modern-era" Aerosmith album, but this is a decent entry in the Aerosmith catalog and stronger than Permanent Vacation.
