fun but basic

listen, this is a fine album. i don't hate it. it's fun. it's just surface-level. it's very surfacable. it doesn't feel too deep. maybe it's not supposed to be. but still. it's just kind of fun. but i don't feel a lot during this. and i dont love a lot of the songs. i dont connect with them much. and hey they are fun. i cant not emphasize that. but that's all this project is. listen to this if you want a fun female pop album that doesnt go to deep. ... read more

muna 4ever. i like muna, but i might like muna's self-titled album a bit better. this doesnt have the same thematic cohesiveness as that album does (or even their first album, if i remember correctly). but i do really like the songs. some songs on the back half are a little weaker. i will still recommend this to everyone, even if they don't like it. not BAD per se. i think the first two tracks are a lot of fun, and the back half is definitely strong. a decent amount of these songs tended to blend together for me. it was frustrating because when E85 transitioned into Body, I thought I was gonna love this album. Maybe it’s just recency bias with that 10/10 song David at the end, but I just love the album. I’d give it a B+ - A- because it’s not perfect, but it does what it wants to do very well. it's a good song, but it's not something i came back to much. not too many contexts to listen to this in. not the catchiest, but still catchy. the mellow mood over the upbeat instrumental is cool and fun, but not something i love for 5+ minutes.

i think this is so fresh (to me) as someone who doesnt really know kaytranada and this genre very well (for context). but i really like this. i don't know what context i would listen to this in, but it's SO well made, and i really like it. like almost good background music for gaming, maybe? idk. it feels more than that though. i don't totally know, but i am in love with these sounds. the overall song though? it's okay, but not great yet.
