If Carti actually consistently dropped all these mfs would NOT have a career, please Carti come back 🙏, save us from this mid 💔💔
Gunnas best work yet. Still boring, and one dimensional as fuck, just a little bit less so than normal
Overall a miss from Conway which is very disappointing, he's become one of my favorite rappers period in the past couple years. But unfortunately, all but 4 songs on this thing are either mediocre or a "what was he thinking" moment. Dasani, the Tech feature, the fucking Adin Ross bar... But at least TRMIO, Mutty, Give & Give, and Meth Back all feel like they'd belong on GDMM or FKTAG quality wise.
Listened to it when this came out, hated it, didn't get it. Listened to ATYPFM when it came out after multiple recommendations, and it just clicked, I GOT it. Going back to this years later, hooooooly shit I GET IT GET IT now... 17 year old me just wasn't ready for this genius unfortunately.
Should've just had the first song of disc one and then all of disc 2, the entire first disc is so sleepyyy.
My first proper introduction to folk, safe to say, I'll be listening to the genre more in the future, this was beautiful.
This is the worst album ive listened to from start to finish. It's just MGK doing a shitty Juice WRLD impression and when Trippie isn't sounding AI levels of generic, he's doing and even shittier Destroy Lonely, Young Thug or for some fucking reason JID impression??? Seriously on who do I call at the 35 second mark, im not lying I swear. Every song is Mind numbingly boring, insulting, cringe, agonizing. Not even close to fun bad, it's just straight up awful, do something better with your time. ... read more
Ive got at least 5 coworkers that are going to try and tell me this is AOTY.
where do they come up with these damn names, like do these bands not think of the fact that people are going to want to talk about them? Poor bastards have to go "That new Mannequin Pussy album went hard" and just pray no one notices what the fuck they just said lol.
"Mom I want to listen to Giggs!"
"We have Giggs at home."
Giggs at home:
(but seriously this shit is boring, damn near the same beat and flow on every song, but Intro goes hard and the posse cut is passable)
Going on multiple tangents about Central Cee and popularity increasing to an uber mainstream level makes the music quality go down significantly reminded me of Jack Harlow and then about this project and yeah, the formula checks out with this one too. This thing is fun as fuck and we didn't realize how good we had it back then.
I've been saying that as Cench has gotten more popular, the quality of his music has decreased. This EP is an outlier to that. This thing is 4/4, the two have great chemistry together and Cench holds his own against Dave which considering the talent gap is impressive. And I like how this actually feels like a proper collab album. The two literally go back and forth throughout the whole thing. Also it's a collar album that actually feels like a collab album, I haven't looked up any stats but I ... read more
Way worse than I remember. Not to repeat my review of Wild West, but in short as his mainstream popularity increased, the music quality decreased and this album is further evidence of that. So much nothing filler on this, with gems like Eurovision, Khabib, Retail Therapy and 8 Ball hidden in here. Watching his fall has been so disappointing.
Without context this would probably be a 60-65 but man, he's proved in the last 2 years that this is going to be his creative peak. He went super mainstream, specifically through TikTok making horrible crappy sampled lovey dovey love song after another, then with Doja he decided to make a non lovey dovey crappy sample song but still. This album has unique concepts, a good amount of clever/ substanceful writing, great production and a few unique flows (not as many as id like but oh well). As his ... read more
Shameless, greedy record companies are a plague. I don't think anyone involved in curating this thought it was good, they just wanted something to sell. Feels wrong to rate it because Pop himself hate pretty much nothing to do with it and would've hated it himself if he heard it. I REALLY hope this is the last Pop album we hear because if they were scrapping the bottom with the FIRST one then no way there's enough to make an even passable second one.
Ghetts has the talent-appreciation ratio that JID fans think JID has. No knock on JID, one of the most talented rappers of our generation but he has 32 million monthly listeners and 14,000 reviews on here and Ghetts has 900k MLs and 400 reviews, do the math. Ironically though, the two would work perfectly on a song together, seriously hoping it happens one day.
