i had a coworker who said this was her best album and he used to religiously watch horse pornography on his phone all day
This album's biggest let down is that it's just forgettable. WAY too much hate on it, definitely, but it's not memorable at all. It sounds like music that a lifeguard would listen to. I've heard the remix fixes the drums? But I didn't really mind the drums so much because the whole thing is very reminiscent of the 1980's. This is like if David Gilmour got Bruce Springsteen to cowrite Floyd songs. On the Turning Away is good, and Sorrow is actually a pretty cool track I hadn't heard before but ... read more
Honestly? It's a decent project. Like, Sunday morning easy listening. I'm a big fan of DOOM so that's what I came for, and all his beats and verses are great. Nehru does fine here, not much from him that's super memorable except for his verse on Disastrous and him on Om. He almost reminds me of Joey Bada$$. I like that the guy in Coming for You reminds me of Mummy Joe too, that's funny. It's a good length for what it is.

Dude... good shit. Despite Bronson's immaturity, Al & him go great together. I am a big fan of all the food references in this EP, and I also liked Al's verse on Arnold & Danny. I went to go see Dr. Bachlava & Human Growth Hormone and hearing Dmtri live was amazing. Damn, that's some good lamb.

I like it a lot. I feel like the only other person who could rap on this beat is like Danny Brown. YOU COULD GET A ROBOT LIMB FOR YA BLOWN OFF LIMB
LOL fuck you this blows
It's a completely soul-less cash grab. I will say I laughed at the way Yung Gravy said Minecraft on his verse but that's about it for reactions. There's a 1/177,000,000,000 chance someone will like this but that's good enough for Dream I guess

Some genuinely great production on this album, kinda sucks it's all just a shitpost because a lot of the lyrics are just filler. There is some funny lines that made me laugh, including but not limited to:
"90 day fiance more like 90 day chimpanzee"
"Adam Driver how about you park the car"
"why's it John Wick 3, not 5?"
"9/11 wasn't an inside job it happened outside"
"I wish I could thumb her"

As many have said, this album feels very cinematic. Definitely gives off Madvillainy vibes, the way it uses samples to tell a story. One of the things that stands out in this album is Del's enunciation of his words. It's something that highlights the genius rhyme schemes he writes that just sounds so satisfying to me. Also, holy shit, 3030 is so good.
Fav Tracks: 3030, Things You Can Do, Battlesong, Mastermind
It's pretty good! I haven't listened to any other Injury Reserve but this album was pretty interesting to hear. There were a few tracks that when they started I was thinking to myself "How are they gonna rap over this!?!?" and I kept getting impressed. Half the time it's hectic and aggressive, but the other half is this soft jazz rap you wouldn't expect to be on the same album as "Oh Shit!!!".

One of my dad's favorites, and I can see why. The Beastie Boys' second album, Paul's Boutique, is a sample-heavy hip-hop album that contains samples of over 100 different songs in its 53 minute runtime. This album was one of, if not THE first experimental hip-hop albums. The Beastie Boys' loud, obnoxious style of rap is complimented by the abnormality of the beats. A must listen for anybody on Reddit who says "sampling is lazy and boring".
