Cafuné - Running
71

Cafune's album, Running, is a very peculiar take on the type of songs with disconsolate lyrics intertwined with vibey, sticky melodies. Since it had been a few months since I last listened to this, I decided to rediscover it, which has left a slightly better impression on me. I had an impression that it would be a mediocre project after Tek It, but I found that I had taken a liking to more of the songs. The mix-up between the songs that included an electronic voice component was such a ... read more

Metro Boomin - Metro Boomin Presents: A Futuristic Summa
4

It's truly mind-boggling that there is even a single positive review on this album. Metro Boomin's Futuristic Summa album makes me wonder how incredibly low he's fallen from HEROES & VILLAINS. Although it may be unfair to compare this abomination to HEROES & VILLAINS, at least his other works were bearable, and some songs were actually enjoyable. Here, however, you can't point to just one or two flaws within it because the entire album is smothered with horrid ... read more

Lorde - Melodrama
49

Being the first time I listened to any of Lorde's works, Melodrama makes me think that I won't be enjoying her other albums as much. I feel like many of the songs in the album blend into a single, sad, expected, monotonous instrumental. I do enjoy listening to melancholic songs, but I feel like they are executed too poorly, at least from a subjective point of view, and get too repetitive and tiring to listen to. That's not to say that she isn't a good artist. I think that ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
72

Mediocre? Maybe, but it's not to say that it's a bad album. Compared to Tyler's previous albums like Chromakopia, Flower Boy, or Call Me If You Get Lost, this one might sit at the very bottom. Some of DON'T TAP THE GLASS's best moments come in features of the songs like "I'll Take Care of You" and "Don't You Worry Baby" by Yebba and Madison McFerrin, respectively. I didn't really enjoy Tyler's vocals in this album, as they were ... read more

Tame Impala - End Of Summer
81

The song's title is very fitting for the track, feeling like a more toned-down version of a tropical summer song. I can totally imagine this song as a soundtrack for some sort of film where the sun is fading away and everyone is playing volleyball at the beach or something. It wasn't a surprise that the production is great, for it is Tame Impala, and I really loved it, no complaints. A very minor detail as well, but I liked the cover for the single.

JACKBOYS - JACKBOYS 2
21

I think that if Travis Scott decided to defecate into the mic with the rest of the JACKBOYS group, I would've enjoyed that much more than this. For an album so highly anticipated, this was a disappointment, to say the least. If this had just had Sheck Wes and So Faygo, I wouldn't have been surprised. I wouldn't have cared that it was this atrocious had it only been those two, but producing this level of filth and then saying, "yeah, this sounds great, let's release it ... read more

GIVĒON - BELOVED
90

To say that every second of this album wasn't above a religious experience is an understatement. The years of waiting are over, and although "BELOVED" contains some of his best songs to this day, the album as a whole falls slightly behind his earlier projects in consistency, but the highs go beyond the sky. However, that is not to say that this album is bad. On the contrary, this album has a very elegant tone and introduces extremely minute details not included in his previous ... read more

Drugdealer - Hiding in Plain Sight
37

I tried my best to be optimistic about this album, especially after having listened to "Pictures of You," where Kate Bollinger does a fantastic job with the great production, but it gets to a point. This album is as if the vocals from the "First Band on the Moon" by The Cardigans had a baby with The Internet's "Feel Good" production, but said baby had below-average vocals. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the instrumentals. They were laid back, funky, ... read more

DNCE - DNCE
66

After falling in love with "Toothbrush," I HAD to listen to this album. In the big year of 2025, it's refreshing to hear an album like DNCE's self-titled album. Although I'm not very well-versed in today's pop genre (and it probably isn't a fair comparison), I think it's really nice to hear this for a change in comparison to artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae. I really like the vocals and how seamlessly he hits those high notes on the songs, ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - emails i can't send fwd:
79

In an effort to get into more pop-style type of music, I went and gave the album a listen, and I think that it was a decent listening experience. Listening to the album in a chronological order, it gave a heartbreak-y process vibe to it, Sabrina Carpenter going from being completely heartbroken, sort of reminiscing (or maybe a new person in "Read your Mind"), missing the person, being obsessed, feeling neglected, and finally (sort of) getting over it towards the end. I know that this ... read more

Malcolm Todd - Sweet Boy
94

There's nothing not to love in this mixtape. Every song is a banger, and I think discovering Malcolm Todd has to be one of life's greatest miracles. On that fateful afternoon, approximately 2 years ago, I was blessed with his then latest single, "Roommates," and I have been insufferably obsessed with it ever since. I cannot count the number of times I've listened just to "Sweet Boy" or any of his other works as a whole, but I can safely say that every listen ... read more

Charli xcx - BRAT
83

Not the biggest fan of electronic music, but I really enjoyed this album. After hearing Charli's "party 4 u" (which is a great song btw), I was intrigued to listen to more of her recent works, and BRAT did not disappoint. Even though I thought that, since every song would sound the same because at the end of the day it's just electronic music, every song is different in its beat, tone, and meaning. It's not often that you see a song full of hatred towards some TikTok ... read more

Lil Tecca - DOPAMINE
82

I loved the album, there’s so many different beats and no one song sounds like another. Not to mention the transitions which are transcendent — you can barely notice the switch between songs since they are so smooth. I only thought that “Hollywood,” “Malibu’s Most Wanted,” and “Tic Tac Toe” weren’t that good, but besides those 3, the others were heavenly. I really liked “Favorite Lie” for its fun beat although it felt cut ... read more

Taylor Swift - 1989
80

For years, I have neglected Taylor Swift simply because of the Swiftie fanbase that is just so obsessive and loud that I do not enjoy it at all, but after giving this a listen, I am very inclined to keep on listening to her other works. Although 1989 has some "meh" songs like "This Love," it's also packed with bangers like "Style" and "Bad Blood," which I think is the best song on the album. "Style" has a really simple beat, but her vocals ... read more

The Kid LAROI - ALL I WANT IS YOU
68

Usually, I really love The Kid LAROI, and it's no different for this song, but I expected it to be better. For a somewhat long wait, I thought he was going to drop "How Does It Feel" instead of this, and was mildly displeased. It's not to say that this song is bad, I enjoy this song, and would probably listen to it more.

Malcolm Todd - Shower Shoes
78

The greatest to ever do it? Maybe. Malcolm Todd's smooth lyrics and melody, though a short 17 minutes of listening, the songs stay in my head, especially Lovebird, which I think is the only song so far in his discography where he switches to an electronic voice half way through the song (with maybe the exception of "Cheer Me On." I loved every song on this EP.

The Internet - Feel Good
61

Feel Good has a consistent chill vibe throughout the album that's nice to relax to and have on the background, but there aren't too many standout songs from the album. It's not a bad or meh album, but I don't think I would replay a lot of the album, though I did find "Dontcha" to be the song that stood out the most.

The Marías - CINEMA
81

I find the album to be really compelling, especially when there are so many different vibes, and they don't trample over one another. Even when she uses English and Spanish in the same song, it feels like a seamless transition that feels natural. It sounds like another try at a relationship with an ex, starting from "Calling U Back," then the longing in "All I Really Want Is You" and "Heavy," to the fun times in "Un Millon" and "Spin Me ... read more

The Cardigans - First Band on the Moon
57

For the first few songs, I didn't really care for the album since I thought it was going to be a throwaway album after getting it recommended by a friend. After the first few songs, I recognized the singer's voice from somewhere, and I started to actually pay attention. I loved the progressively intense yearning of the album as a whole, but I don't think it is the type of album I can listen to, with the exception of one or two songs. I think "Step On Me" was the best ... read more

Daniel Caesar - NEVER ENOUGH
89

This was the first album I listened to by Daniel Caesar, and I think I listened to it for like 2 months straight every morning I took the bus to school. It's a really nice album to listen to so early in the morning when everything is still dark, just before downtown gets loud and busy. There's not a song on here that doesn't get me in the most serene feel. I personally loved "Disillusioned" the most in this.
