Under Soil and Dirt by The Story So Far is my favorite album of all time. Pop punk has always been my go-to genre, I love Blink, Sum41, Paramore, all the classics, but I always felt there was kind of something missing in what would be considered "classic pop-punk". Not much to be said about these tracks that hasn’t already been said, the sheer anger, rage, hatred, grief, displayed beautifully in two tracks that are technical and musically interesting yet also relatively easy to digest for fans of heavier music. FUCK…………… YOU!
There’s a lot of words I could use to describe Attila as a band but the one that comes to mind on this album is “sad”. This is just really sad. Pretty firmly in the "I get why people like it but this isn't for me" catagory
While not a perfect album, I enjoyed this minor (and in my opinion, successful) return to form by Neck Deep, reviving the sound of The Peace and the Panic after not quite hitting the mark with All Distortions are Intentional. There are a few forgettable tracks on this album but there are also some absolute bangers. My favorites were Sort Yourself Out, Dumbstruck Dumbf*ck, and Go Outside.
